Hi, my name is Pelf and you are..?

You know, Feedburner tells me that I have more than 200 people reading my blog. It baffles me because it certainly doesn’t feel like there are THAT many people reading my stuff! But of course, it doesn’t help that I’m not sure sure what unique visits and page views are and what “reach” means and why I should do it in the first place, LOL.

So I thought it would be a great idea to get to know the people who make up the number on Feedburner, which is YOU :D I’d really appreciate it if you would tell me something about yourself. I’ve made a simple form for this simple task, which I promise will not take more than 5 minutes of your time. And the best thing is, NONE of the fields is compulsory, so it’s entirely up to you what info you’d like to share with me :D

For a start, here’s something about me :D

My name is Pelf Nyok, but everybody calls me Pelf (minus some family and childhood/high school friends I’ve not met for a very long time). I’m 31 this year and no, I’m not married :D

I recently co-founded Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS), an NGO dedicated to saving the critically-endangered river terrapins, and of course, other species of turtles too, if/when the need arises. At TCS, our project activities differ every year, depending on the availability, sources of grants and the proposed projects. If you’re interested, here’s the list of our current project activities.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology in 2004, and a Master’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation in 2008, both from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Zoology (gulps!) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

And oh, I’m pelf81 on Twitter :D

OK, it’s your turn now!
