I realize it has been quite a looonng while since I last boasted about shared my postcards. Before I procrastinate further and leave those cards collecting dust in the box, I thought maybe I really should get down to it - because some of the cards and/or people are really nice!
* * * * *
Michael, who is a Ph.D. candidate at the Trent University in Canada sent me NOT one but a couple of turtle cards and some brochures on the Turtle Adoption Program.

The most amazing thing is that he is not working with the turtles, as in, his project does not revolve around turtles, like mine does. In fact, he is “conducting research into evolutionary and population genetics of the muskellunge (Esox masquinongy) in North America, with a particular emphasis on native Ontario stocks.” *phew*
But he’s got a dozen or so turtles in his backyard and he enjoys taking pictures of them.

There are quite a bunch of turtles, no?
I haven’t been showing off my postcards lately because I have been very busy. Whenever I feel like writing, I would either be working in the office or, well.. But when I have some time to myself (like now), I find myself having nothing in particular to blog about. In fact, I just noticed the other day that I am blogging less with each passing month - a sign that I may get tired of blogging one day
I digressed.
Anyway, if there is ONE obvious thing that I have learned from my PostCrossing experience, it’s that there are a lot of cats in Finland. Am I right, my dear Finnish friends? *smiles*

However, this kitten card (above) came NOT from Finland but from Texas. The sender, Sandra photographed the kittens herself.

Christina bought the above card because she thought it was a funny one. UNTIL she noticed the fly on one of the cakes *laughs* And since I “requested” for a trash card, she decided to send it to me

This Torino card is my first official card from Italy. YaY! Thanks Francesca, if you happen to see this

And this Wroclaw card was sent to me by Joanna. She did not mention where Wroclaw is, but my guess is that it’s in Poland (from the word “Polska” on the stamps). Anyway, the card shows the Market Place at the Town Hall. So pretty. And clean
This postcard is a tad too ordinary-looking. In fact, if you look closely enough, you will realize that it is indeed an ad card. And many people specify in the forum that they do not want to receive ad cards.

But then again, I received this card as a result of a “learn about words” tag. As the name suggests, what is on the correct side of the card is not as important as what is on the reverse side.
So Laura, who is from Finland, attempted to teach me a few Finnish phrases. We shall learn together, OK? *smiles*
Minun nimeni on Pelf means My name is Pelf.
Mita kuuluu? means How are you?
Toivottavasti hyuaa means Hopefully great.
Mina rakastan sinua means I love you.
Rakkaus on ruma sana means Love is a dirty word.
I have no idea why she taught me that last phrase. Anyway.. I have sent a couple of “learn about words” cards and the 4 phrases that I teach people in Bahasa Malaysia are “Apa khabar?”, “Saya sihat”, “Terima kasih” and “Sama-sama”. And if I happen to have some extra space in the little big-a$$ card (like he puts it), I will also teach him/her the days of the week.
