Postcards From Afar

Postcards and/or cards received from PostCrossing and fellow bloggers.

Postcard #5

Yesterday afternoon, I received an envelope containing a short hand-written letter, a postcard and a hand-made card from Auli, a 44-year-old grandmother from Finland. Yes, she’s only 44 but she has a granddaughter aged 4!

The postcard, she says, shows a typical summer lake view in Finland, which is also dubbed “the Land of 1000 Lakes.” Which reminded me of the “Land of Big Roundabouts with Long Names” post that I had written but accidentally deleted *sniffs*

And she made the flower card herself, with a little help from her copy machine, which I assume is a printer :))

And since she took so much trouble to make the pretty flower card, I will send her a surprise postcard in return. And no, no prizes for correctly guessing what card I’m going to send her *winks*

Postcard #4

The following postcard is the result of a private swap with Yvy. For those of you who pronounce her name as Y-V, you’re WRONG! Or was I the only one?! *smiles*

She said she didn’t want to send me a Penang postcard because I was recently there. Right, I was there during Chinese New Year. And yes, darling, this Langkawi one looks good too, though I’d prefer sunrise than sunset – I’m a morning person, you see.. :)

Postcards #2 and #3

It has been a couple of days since I received the first postcard and I was really looking forward to receiving my second and third and fourth card. I even told a friend of mine about this new and fun thing that I have just found out and I think I have kind of influenced her to join the herd :)

So, I received two postcards today, when I return from campus:

No prizes will be given for correctly guessing where this BALI postcard was sent from :) It was from Gloria, who lives in Surabaya Indonesia, who is currently very excited about her trip to KL next month.

And this little strawberry-kid postcard was sent from South Florida by Yvonne. So cute, don’t you think so?? :)
