This guy said he was going to send me a postcard if I gave him my address. So I thickened my face and gave him my address, and this was what he sent me, together with a handwritten note:

The handwritten note says that he only realized it costs 50 cents to send a postcard AFTER he had bought a “whole stack” of 30 cents stamps. So he was trying to maximize his 2 x 30 cents postage cost by sending the postcard in an envelope PLUS a handwritten note *runs away*
*runs back, panting*
By the way, Merv, I know you ARE reading this.. Thank you very much for the card and the note, will keep them both in the safe
Another card that arrived on the same day was this Washington DC night view from Christina, showing the three main features of the Mall: (from left to right) The United States Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial.

Guess what?!
I received not one but TWO cards from darling EJ.

He got me the above card first. It shows the Norwegian Star I, a vessel with 28,078 gross registered tonnage (I have no idea how much that is in real life though I did a “Navigation and Seamanship” course in my final year). So apparently, the Star Cruises is darling EJ’s neighbour where he works. I don’t know about you, but the BIG ship reminds me of Titanic..

And then he saw this second card and he claimed that it also has a “ship” in it. OMG.. It is only a boat, young man :)) Anyway, he sent it to me because he thought it looked “Port Klang”-ish. OK la, accepted..
Thank you so much *smiles*
I received this postcard from susuyaya who lives in USA. It was supposed to be the result of a “culture” tag.

Anyway, susuyaya thinks that the card is representative of “our freedom of speech” and that “since 911, it seems to many that our Democracy has weakened as the Republicans have taken advantage of the situation to reduce our liberties with the Patriot Act and fill the pockets of their friends with war contracts.”
Err.. This is too difficult for me to digest..
