Pexagontech is offering incredible deals on thumbdrives and they’re giving FREE laser engraving as well. There are no minimum orders, which means you can order just one thumbdrive and request for it to be engraved and there’ll be no questions asked. But the best thing is that the thumbdrives come in 14 colours!

Now, all you need to do is to select the colour of the thumbdrive you’d like, and choose a capacity. The Store-It thumbdrives come in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB. Then tell the system what you’d want engraved on your thumbdrive and VOILA!

Perhaps it’s an opportune time to get your girlfriend or wife a personalized thumbdrive? You know, we girls like “personalized items”. We especially love it if it’s personalized with our names, hehhe :)

On a more personal note.. I remember getting my first 64MB thumbdrive at about RM140 a few years ago. And that wasn’t even a branded one, I just got it from one of the computer shops in Mahkota Parade and I’m not even sure if that shop is still there today :) I digressed, but that was when the word “thumbdrive” was still non-existent in the vocab of a lot of people.

Over time, I have upgraded myself from that 64MB to the 128MB one, which was one of my loyal companions throughout the days of my Final Year Project. The thesis that I was working on, location maps, raw data, analyzed data, you name it, I have them all in one thumbdrive *shrugs* And then to a 1GB Kingston.

You see, whatever you’re doing, whatever your line of work is, as long as computers are a part of your job nature, so will thumbdrives be. Of course I know there’s the portable harddisk these days, but would you bring along a harddisk drive the size of two credit cards if you could keep your thumbdrive in the coins compartment of your wallet?

I cleaned my computer desk this morning and threw away a lot of stuff - pieces of papers scribbled with things that no longer make sense to me, receipts that I can’t remember why I kept them in the first place, expired brochures which I had no time for, pens that run dry before I had a chance to use them (for some reasons, the university loves to give us pens on registration days, seminars, workshops, you name it) and envelopes that the phone and streamyx bills came in, which I had intentionally recycled but find myself never using recycled envelopes.

But not this Santa Christmas tree that J gave me in 2004.

Written on the underside of the tree is a note which says:

I wanted to get you a real Christmas tree but no $$$. So I got you this paper Christmas tree instead. This is also good, no? Full of Santa! Merry Christmas!

So yea, from sitting on the desk collecting dust, I took it down, contemplated on throwing it away by telling myself that “it’s OK to throw it because it’s been collecting dust, and that some of the Santas were missing due to all the moving about and that I can always get J to get me another one”, decided that I should really keep it, cleaned it with cotton buds and now it is sitting on the desk again.

There are just things that you don’t throw, no?

I don’t normally take pictures with my Samsung D600 - partly because I always have my camera with me, and partly because the D600 doesn’t take good pictures. I don’t know, compared to the SE K750i, my D600 takes lousy pictures!

But there are always times - good times - when the camera cannot be used. Like in shopping centres. I don’t know why are we not allowed to take pictures in shopping centres. Is it because the proprietors, or whatever you call them, worry that we will set our future shops, if any, just like how they did? Anyway, it is at times like this that the camera in the phone comes to good use, especially when your sister/cousin/mum wanted to know how it feels like to dress unusually with 3-kg heavy accessories BUT do not want to buy the particular item in case they regretted their action the moment they paid for it.

Or when your sister SUDDENLY thinks she’s pretty and wanted you to take a picture of her.

Or two.

Or when your boyfriend decided not to follow you back to your Mum’s place, and you had the most famous Hainanese Chicken Rice ball at “He Ji” and you just wanted to send him an MMS to show him what he had missed out on.

And you needed your sister to pose for a picture for the added effect.

Or when you were feeling so drop-dead-tired after bullying the groom at your bestfriend’s wedding that your sister decided to take some retarded shots of herself, just so she could scare you with them later when you get up and still feeling sleepy.

It’s quite difficult to believe that the retard picture above and the pretty-girl pictures below are of the same person, huh? *winks*

I know, I will definitely get my a$$ fired for posting the above pictures but then again, I’ve already bought her an 80GB external hard-disk and a new domain, so I deserve a lil’ bit of flexibility, right?
