Words cannot express just how much we are indebted to you,
for bringing us up the way you did.

My newest fan, Loony a.ka. ColourfulWorld tagged me with this “Gotta Get Goals” meme in which I am supposed to share with you my ultimate goals before I die.
Well I see this meme (originally started by Alex Shalman — he’s using one of my favourite themes on his site) as one of the best — and probably most efficient — ways for us bloggers to identify other bloggers who have similar goals/tastes/views on life/favourites as we do. I mean, one of the reasons we do memes is to find our own social circle, no? And well, besides getting the linky loves *smiles*

Seriously, the ONLY goal I’d love to achieve before I die, is to have lots and lots of money going into my bank account every-single-freaking-day, so that I can:
- donate lots and lots of them to charities and old folks homes and orphanages. So that I can buy lots and lots Christmas presents for the kids. So that I can buy lots and lots of ginseng, herbal tea and what-other-traditional-teas whenever I visit the old folks home during Chinese New Year. So that I can buy lots and lots of fruit hampers when I go visiting to the hospital whenever I am free.
- set up a Turtle Fund to help students who are interested to run turtle/conservation projects. Being a student myself, I understand how difficult it is to have to work (part-time) and at the same time study/work on one’s research. So I want to be able to set up a fund to help deserving students so that they do not have to worry about their school fees, and so that they can concentrate solely on their research.
- buy myself a big house, with lots of land space for my Mum to do her gardening, a huge library for my sister to do her research and a TV room with a big screen so that my sister doesn’t go complaining, “Jie, the TV is so small.” Ouh, and I must remember to hire a domestic helper so that my Mum doesn’t secretly climb on chairs-on-tables to clean the fans or chandeliers or air-conditioning units.
Aiya, I can’t think anymore.
I’m thinking about the Deluxe King room in which we’re going to stay for 2 nights during the Annual Seminar which will be held at Awana Kijal from May 2nd to 4th. Awana Kijal, here I come!!
14 commentsOK, I know, “bloggy tags” is as new to you as it is to me, but since I thought it’s fun, we’ll see how accepted this is
Now, this is how you do it:
- Do a written task or answer a question. Then tag 1-5 others to do as you did.
- Tag your post with the cute little glowing “Bloggy tag” button to alert readers that youre playing.
- Link the button to the post of the person who tagged you, if you didnt start the game.
- Tell your readers to click the button to find out who came before you. Its a surprise for them.
So, since I’m starting this game, I get to ask a question. And my question (it isn’t a question, but since I’m starting it, it is what I say it is, hahha) is:
Tell us about the nicknames you were called when you were younger.
When I was younger, about 9 - 12 years old, my Mum called me “Donald Duck”. Simply because I didn’t smile as often as I should. In fact, I was always not smiling and I took very little effort to smile at people whenever somebody talked to me, or whenever I talked to people. Now that I’m looking back at things, it could all due to my mal-aligned teeth. You know how girls are always very vain, and wouldn’t want to show the world her “short-comings”.
So yea, Donald Duck. Darn, I hate that nickname.

So when I grew up a little more, like when I was in secondary school (13 - 15 years old), I miraculously realized the importance of flashing a smile, to the kacang putih man, to the plumber who fixed our pipes, to the newspaper delivery man who climbed up to our third floor apartment everyday, to the teacher who gave me a “I think you need to work harder” look when I failed my Additional Math paper..
Anyway, to cut a long story short, my Mum doesn’t call me Donald Duck anymore. Because I smile a lot these days. And because I now have a set of almost-perfectly-aligned teeth
The end.
Now I get to tag a few persons, right? OK, I’m only going to tag the following THREE persons because I’m not sure whether the others are capable of following simple instructions, hahha..
- Wuching - because he recently complained that he had nothing to blog about, heh!
- Merv - because he’s my favourite sexy blogger
- ColourfulWorld - because this young man is my newest fan!
Ei, even if I didn’t tag you, it doesn’t mean you can’t do this, OK? Anybody can do it, the more the merrier!
Come on, tell me what your nickname was/were when you were younger!
And since I started this “thread”, I’m not linking anybody with the cute little glowing “Bloggy tag” button, but if you wanted to know more about the person who started the whole “Bloggy tag” thingy, click here.
