If you haven’t heard it, I am organizing a month-long blogging campaign on environmental issues @ The Giving Hands beginning Sept 15th, and will conclude on Oct 15th, in conjunction with Blog Action Day.
Some of the environment-related articles that have been published since Sept 15th are as follow:
By myself

- Fiction lead the way? — What would happen if the authorities were to punish litter bugs to do some community-service, just like how some story books tell? Naoko shares an example.

Do you have an environment-related issue you’d like to discuss? Do you have some energy-saving tips (or whatever other tips) you’d like to share? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll hook you up
Today’s theme is PLASTIC. And since I have just returned from a Clean Up The World event, I might as well show you the kind of rubbish collected from the beach clean up. It definitely isn’t a nice sight, but it clearly shows how much respect we have for Mother Nature.

And how many times do we have to stress that marine animals get killed for ingesting plastic bags that look like jellyfish in the sea?
How many turtle, whale and dolphin strandings do we need to record until we take stern action to penalize those who pollute the sea?
If you are hunting for great shots go online and do research for photo taking tips. There are different things to consider depending on your subject, for example getting bird pictures will require different planning than getting a picture of flowers so get a camera and have fun!
Did you know that the Clean Up The World weekend is celebrated globally on the third weekend in September every year?
Clean Up the World encourages volunteers to organize a Clean Up event on, or around, Clean Up the World Weekend and to think of ways to engage the community in long-term environmental initiatives.
In other words, it is a community based environmental program that inspires and empowers individuals and communities from every corner of the globe to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment. Now in its 15th year, Clean Up the World, held in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), mobilises over 35 million volunteers from more than 120 countries annually, making it one of the largest community-based environmental campaigns in the world.
So if you haven’t already guessed it, yeah, I’m going to Redang Island for a Land and Underwater Clean Up jointly organized by Berjaya Redang Beach Resort and Sony Malaysia. There will be a land and underwater clean up, talks on turtle conservation by my Supervisor, a visit to the turtle sanctuary at Chagar Hutang and a photography competition.
Anyway, what are YOU going to do this weekend? Perhaps clean the cobwebs underneath your bed? Or clean your wardrobe? Or your garden/backyard?
Do check out the list of 10 things you can do to help prevent marine debris.
Help clean up the world by removing the graffiti from your wall with industrial pressure washing services. Hiring professional commercial cleaners can help your business look like new again, and will help make your neighborhood a little more beautiful.
