As you probably know by now, my model works on a different basis and while this is indeed very attractive, it is not for me and in any case, I suppose that it is restricted to Malaysia.
One thing to keep in mind with these types of promotions is that you often don’t actually own the domain name, so if you cancel your service they can take it from you. Also, using the same company to host your domain and act as your registrar is again kind of risky, as if you get into trouble with your host, then you are also getting into trouble with your registrar at the same time, so your domain name is by default in jeopardy. Just my two cents…
This seems a good price for a .com/.net etc domain name as most starter website websites have really strange things after their dot. Steve’s comment is interesting and useful though, I didn’t realise that if you cancel your services they can take your domain name as well.
