I never thought that the pink theme that I picked for the Pink for October event in 2007 would last for more than one year because, well, I thought it was only for October! But since I liked that theme so much, I guess I continued using it even after October.

Pink for October 2007 theme

But now, it is time to move on.

This time around, I picked a green theme because well, I don’t think there is any particular reason behind it except the fact that green is my secret favourite colour :) And I picked a theme with only one sidebar to reduce the amount of stuff on the front page. I figured my Twitter updates weren’t important enough to be given so much emphasis, plus, I don’t tweet as much as I’d like to due to my work commitment. I have also removed the links to my other blogs because I figured my visitors and readers would find their way there if they wanted to (if they didn’t want to, plastering the links all over the blog won’t do much either).

From pink to green

So I guess the only thing missing right now is the RSS button. I need to figure out where to place it. Soon.

And now I need to figure out why isn’t the feed flare working :(

Really like the new design, but I hafta ask… if you’re going green with the color scheme, why didn’t you do something to incorporate turtles?

    • pelf says:

Rob, I am not going to incorporate anything related to turtles in this blog because this is a personal blog :) I may have a liking towards turtles, but because I work in 2 turtle projects in the university, my Advisor asked me not to blog about anything closely related to the work we do.

I will still write about turtles once in a while, but not on our projects.

      • Rob O. says:

Oh don’t get me wrong – I really like the new design, especially since green is my fave color! Makes sense to keep your research projects separate. I just hadn’t thought of it like that.

  2. Steve says:

This theme rocks. Although I am not completely unbiased, because I actually use it on one of my other blogs ;)

I think it was probably the first theme that pretty much everything worked without me having to do any major tweaking or tinkering.

    • pelf says:

Steve, since you use this theme on one of your other blogs, I am sure you can see the modifications/tweakings that I have done to this theme. Not much, but I’ve changed the font-family and font-size and link colours :)

  3. Esther says:

    Looks great!! :)

  4. Anonymous says:

It looks perfect. Green is a favorite color of mine. It looks great!

  5. Tine says:

I’d normally prefer pink, but I have to say, this green is gorgeous! :)

  6. Grace says:

    This is nice.

  7. rinnah says:

    A cool, refreshing change! :D

  8. annant says:

    nice nice :)
green is good for eyes ;)

  9. David says:

TBH, I prefer your pink one. It was a pretty unorthodox layout, which made your site stand out.

I am just making a green theme with font-resizing bar. Just need to put it into WP. It’s currently living here:
