“If you guys want to go catch a movie, we could do that. You know, Dark Knight?”
“Nope.”
“Why? You don’t like Batman?”
“Err.. I don’t like the title.”
I know it sounds crazy to not want to watch a movie because of the movie title.
But that’s just me. I judge a movie by its title. Similarly, I judge a book by its title. I am not afraid of admitting it, or the fact that the movie or book I dismissed earlier could be a good one. Even if the whole world thinks that it is a very good movie, I would still not watch it.
Because I don’t like how the title sounds.

I might be missing a very good movie because I’ve read that somebody gave a 200% thumbs up for The Dark Knight, but really, I don’t feel like watching it just because everybody says it’s good.
Maybe, MAYBE, I might watch it some other time, when I am ready, LOL.
And no, I don’t think “The Dark Knight” is a bad title, I just don’t like how it sounds, that’s all.
Movies that I’d love to watch? At the moment, Up The Yangtze.

I don’t blame you at all. If the title isn’t that great, why would the movie/book be that great?
The only reason the dark knight is doing so well is because of the actor in it that died. I guess people just want to see his last performance or something.

I saw Dark Knight. I liked it, but also found it a touch disturbing :-)

i think the title of a book or movie is very important because it gives the first impression on people. so if it is lousy, people wouldn’t even spend some time to look at the synopsis

The titles of the books or films are rarely if ever decided up on by the author. They are decided by the publisher’s Marketing experts. This is how the old saw, “Don’t judge a book by its cover” came about.
That’s the one big difference between the pelfs. I love batman. I watched “The Dark Knight”. I found it to be one of the coolest (if not greatest) movie I’d watched this year. Though I found ‘the joker’ to be quite disturbing and I could hardly sleep the night I watched it, nonetheless it was really a one good movie NOT TO BE MISSED. Trust me. I reviewed movies (for some time) and I know what kind of movies worth watching

Hey, I don’t blame you. Why waste your time? If anyone doubts the title-to-movie quality ratio, just think of “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”. LOL
