We do get a lot of catalogues from various shopping centres and direct sales companies in our mailboxes, but this is definitely NOT something you can find in catalogues in Malaysia, or in many other countries for that matter.
Ahh.. The Americans. Now, imagine a world where everybody can buy a gun whenever they like. Do you think that would be fun?

Yes, it would be fun. But I would always run out of ammo shooting all the Mat Rempits…
Culture shocks?
I had, when a friend showed me his father’s collection of guns, long and short, 20+ of them.
When i told my friend’s father owning a gun requires a license in Malaysia, and you get death penalty if found guilty of illegal possession of guns. He was amused! So he brought me to a counter at the mall where they sell guns, just like what we have here for selling watches!!
Some people actually believe gun right keep them safe and keep the crime rate low. :-)
Thing is, the US government was set up with a system of checks and balances. If the President (office of the Executive) gets out of line, the congress and supreme court have the power to stop it. If the congress gets out of line, the office of the executive and supreme court can stop it. If the supreme court gets out of line, the president and congress can stop it.
If the government gets out of line, then it’s up to the people to stop it, by force if necessary. The people are the ultimate check, the ultimate balance.
For the record, not everyone can buy a gun whenever they like, at least not legally. There are rules and regulations about who can buy a gun and the conditions under which they can buy them. This, of course, depends on the state.
Yeah, Leah. I actually saw guns on sale at Sportsman’s WareHouse. I was like, “WOW, I better not go near the counter!”
LOL.
But then again, the Americans were as surprised when I told them about Malaysia as I was when I was told about the US. So, fair la, LOL.
That, of course, I have learned, Gnorb (that not everybody can buy a gun whenever and wherever). The states in the US are pretty much like independent countries, with their own set of laws and regulations, huh?
Given that too many guns are floating around in the hands of criminals here in America, I think maybe the laws of Malaysia are better
With or without guns in their hand, crime will continue.
It just take another form, through another mean.
Human is just human.
I quote from some episode in CSI…”it is not the gun that kills, it’s the person pulling the trigger”.
So, doesn’t matter if they sell guns like selling watches…just depends on how people use them…for crime or for…decoration?
Fun 2 buy a gun?
I don’t think so. Incredible thing: most percentage of the killing-rate in the usa came from the “in-house-guns”. Mostly it isn’t the owner who died…
Why we need a world with guns?!?!?!
No, it would not be fun! You’d be closer to being like an American…bad news if you ask me!
