Hi Zhu, please don’t feel bad, but instead, let me share with this with you:

Malaysia is essentially a multi-racial country, and the three major ethnic groups are the Malays, Chinese (I am one) and the Indians. As such, any celebrations that have anything to do with these major ethnic groups are celebrated nation-wide, meaning, we all get a day OFF to celebrate together :)

But of course, we do get New Year’s Day and Christmas off as well :)
