Psst…

Today is my new best friend’s nth birthday. Happy Birthday, ! Cheers! :vodka:

Malaysia 50th AnniversaryWell, I know everybody’s telling everybody that Malaysia turns 50 years old today, so I thought I’d just get by with only ONE sentence: 50 is just another number. It doesn’t represent how much we’ve advanced and progressed, and neither does it represent how much we’ve all matured.

Some people may agree that we have come a longgg way since 1957, but some people think that we’re still behaving like a spoilt child. Somebody said that we look all nice and dandy on the outside but are actually rotten on the inside. But regardless of whether our country is perfect or otherwise, one thing is for sure. That we’re all Malaysians, and right now, this, is where we call home.

Longest hand-printed flag

 Happy 50th Birthday, Malaysia!

Updated 1 Sept 2007:
The flag above was created in an attempt to break the record of the longest hand-printed Jalur Gemilang. The end product measured 240m by 3.13m and is second entry into the Malaysia Book of Records. More pictures here. The story appeared in The Star, Metro South and East, 1st Sept 2007.

    IT is our HOME ALRIGHT!
    HAPPY MERDEKA TO YOU!

  2. Wayne Liew says:

However bad it is, it is still the place we grew up in and provided the comfort until today.

    MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!

  3. Nice flag you have there. Yes, no matter what, our home will always be Malaysia, even though the current condition is not satisfactory to everyone but there are still a lot of room for improvements, so let’s work together to make our country a better place to live!

  4. pelfychen says:

WHOA! Who’s idea was that to decorate it with finger prints? It’s so creative! :)

  5. narrowband says:

I like the idea of ‘everyone has a hand’ in that Jalur Gemilang. A very creative touch – to use palm prints.

    Happy Merdeka to you!!

  6. pelf says:

Colourful World, Mei Mei & narrowband: I’m not sure whose idea it was, but it was an attempt to create the longest hand-printed Jalur Gemilang, measuring 240 m by 3 m. And the students succeeded! :)

  7. vincent says:

    Happy Merdeka!

With all the negativity going around this year, probably another Happy Malaysia project should have been done, no?
