Avijit Paul @ Enveluv alerted me (and probably some other Malaysian bloggers) about the WordPress banners that he designed in conjunction with Malaysia’s 50 Years of Independence on 31st August 2007.

WordPress - Malaysia's 50 Years of Independence

I particularly love this banner :) I love the glossy look of the W in the WordPress logo. And I love how seamlessly the hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) — Malaysia’s national flower — is embedded into the WordPress trademark. And the Malaysian flag on the pole!

Brilliant :)

I really like that :) . Thanks for linking to it.

  2. Avijit Paul says:

Thanks a lot. Ya, it was a shameless announcement as the author to quite a few Malaysian bloggers, but I was pretty late to design it, so I thought of messaging everyone whose blog I read so that at least on the day of Merdeka we can put up. Haha. Glad to see you liked it. :D

  3. Helen says:

Ooh that’s very very pretty. :) Congrats to Malaysia! Admittedly I don’t know much about the country, but I hear it’s absolutely gorgeous there and I want to go visit it very badly!

  4. Wayne Liew says:

Thanks for letting me know. I thought of flying one in my blog.

  5. pelf says:

Yes, everybody! If you’re using WordPress, why not put up one of Avijit’s neat banners? :)

  6. doink says:

Nice job ! Nooo … Fantastic. I love it.
I’m not using WordPress. Is there one for Blogger? Heheh …

  7. Alvin says:

whoa, nice. but only tomorrow wor…put in then have to remove already. =_=

  8. pelf says:

doink: Perhaps you wanna design one for Blogger?

Alvin: But the national-level celebrations run from August 15th to September 15th
