A few PayPerPost posties recently got together and started a new blog — Bloggers R Us — and boy, it reminds me sooo much of my favourite toy chain store, Toys R Us!! :D Go check it out, who knows, you might learn a thing or two about blog marketing, CSS, blogging tools, etc.
I’m using WordPress and I love every second of it. In fact, one of the reasons I’ve migrated from a Blogger blog to a WordPress.com blog was because I loved the categories functionality. And a few months down the road, I moved from a free WordPress.com blog to a self-hosted blog eventhough I knew next-to-nothing about hosting my own blog because I loved the flexibility in switching my blog themes :D
Some of the features I looked for when selecting a blogging platform are as follow:
- Provides blog themes for free or for a low fee.
- FREE customer support services.
- Ability to handle add-ons like extensions or plugins.
- Categories and tags management.
- Trackbacks and pings.
- Post preview and editing.
- Multiple authors/contributors.
- Comment control (on, off, moderated, comment spam protection).
- Blog backups.
So what blogging platform are you using, and what made you choose it? If you’re thinking of self-hosting your blog, what are the features that you will take into consideration before making a decision?

Pelf! Stop reading my mind! :P
I’m a long-time Blogger user. I sometimes get a bit envious of all the gizmos, whizbangsm and plug-ins that WordPress bloggers have at their disposal, but I’m pretty happy with our (Classic) Blogger-based blog that’s hosted on my own domain & webspace.
And I’m hopeful that I’ve tweaked & tuned enough on our 2Dolphins so that it doesn’t seem so much like just any other Blogger blog.
Pat: Aww… Can’t help it! :D
Rob: Your Dolphins site looks good! You did a great job :)
