You know, this is the first Photo Hunt entry that I published manually in the month of June, no kidding! Three earlier Photo Hunt entries were published automagically because I was away from my PC — now that’s a lot of travelling, isn’t it?
- Art was scheduled to publish because I was in Penang.
- Shoes was scheduled to publish because I went to KL to attend an interview.
- Hair was also scheduled to published because I was in Ipoh for the Triple Celebrations.
So anyway, this week’s theme is SWEET and look what I’ve got?! I don’t know what these are called but they’re for decorative purposes. You can buy a bunch of them and put them in a vase and you don’t have to worry about changing your flowers or watering them to keep them alive. Or better still, if you know how to make them yourself, they make great gifts!!
These sweet-looking decors were made by the staff at the Handicraft Unit of Eden Handicap Service Centre. Emily, a wheelchair user, makes and sells them for RM 1 a stalk. The dough is made from leftover breadcrumbs mixed with something (OK, I forgot what) and with a pair of sharp scissors, the “petals” are cut and when it’s done, it’s left to dry.
Aren’t they sweet?
If you think this post might benefit other bloggers:

Yup.. definitely sweet :-)
Err.. but then.. can touch or not? Sometimes sweet but cannot touch lah. They look prickly.
Never saw anything like them! Very unusual and pretty.
The colors are amazing, it’s hard to believe that could come from leftover breadcrumbs. It’s cool you bought so many of them, that’s pretty sweet of you.
:-)
That is so coool! Who knew you could make something so neat with leftover breadcrumbs?
Really sweet colour there.
Creative!
Those are unusual! I’ve never EVER seen it before!
Oh, they do look like candies on a stick! I love the colors.
When I first looked I thought they were candy. But made out of bread crumbs? That is creative AND sweet!
Thanks, everybody, for your comments
Yeah, I couldn’t believe that they were made from breadcrumbs and that the “petals” were cut just by using a pair of sharp scissors too, but seeing is believing!
Whoa! They are lovely.
