Lorelle's Blogging Challenge Lorelle’s newest challenge is for us to find out where our favourite bloggers live and work. As much as it sounds like stalking them, Lorelle defends by saying that “The answer might be more interesting than you think.”

When you figure out where your favorite bloggers are geographically located, blog about what you learned about discovering this information, and then if it changes your perception of them. Sometimes it helps to know where someone is coming from, and sometimes it doesn’t matter. Which is it for these bloggers and for your blog reading experience?

I’m sure I’ll discover more about you by knowing where you live and work, just like how I’ve discovered that 5xmom and I (and Dr. Bernard) have the same Chinese surname.. And all three of us can’t read Chinese (OK, this isn’t something to brag about, but you get what I mean..)! You know, perhaps we DO have something in common after all, hah. Or perhaps I’ll be able to “connect” more with you by knowing where you live and work.

So yeah, where do you live? And where do you go to work? Who knows, we could be related in some ways.. :D

I shall get the ball rolling by telling you about where I live and “work” — I stay in Kuala Terengganu, and I go to Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT, formerly known as KUSTEM), which is about 5km from my rented place. And if you were to go to Redang Island, you will pass my rented place and the university on your way to the Merang jetty (where you board the boat to the island) as well as on your way out, so it’s perfectly convenient to meet up, if you’re interested, that is :)

Note:

  1. This challenge is done a little differently from Lorelle’s original challenge because, well, I think it will encourage a little more “conversation” on my blog if it was done this way :D
  2. You DON’T have to tell me your street name or company name and address. Something general will do. Yeah, it’s *that* simple :D

  1. wuching says:

i live in the city of darebin & work in the city of whitehorse

  2. silveraven says:

this isn’t exactly related to your post but did you know our last name in chinese is the same? hohoho~ i saw your name in that chinese book/magazine thingy for WPC some time ago. i just keep forgetting to tell you. wahahaha!

  3. pelf says:

    wuching: Err.. WHAT??!

silveraven: I didn’t know that! What a coincidence, considering our surnames are spelt and pronounced soooo differently :)

  4. Lorelle says:

Ah, pelf, the challenge was for YOU to investigate where the folks you are reading in your feed reader are. Not those reading your blog. The lesson comes from knowing where you get your information from, which may say a lot about how you blog and what you blog about.

But asking your readers where they are from is okay, too.

  5. silveraven says:

Last name in chinese lah. your ‘nyok’ and my ‘ik’. not our surnames. haha~ :p if i remembered correctly (cos i saw it in the beginning of sem 1) it’s 玉 isn’t it?

  6. pelf says:

Lorelle: Ahh… I should have mentioned in the beginning that I’m doing it a little differently, though it’s noticeable :)

silveraven: Whoever tells you that “Nyok” is my “last name” should probably go back to school.. Kekkeke :D BTW my dear, “last name” means “surname”..

  7. Bernard says:

Haha.. your surname is the Cantonese version.

I live and work in “Farmer’s River.” ;-)

  8. silveraven says:

yakah? haih, ok…the name right at the end of our IC then, ok? give up dy, dunno what to call it. :p

  9. zeroimpact says:

Me pass by your house the last time I go redang
Next time must stop by edi
Me work in the golden triangle
    Live in Jiu Lai
    heh heh heh

  10. Ed Kohler says:

I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and work in Eden Prairie, MN for TechnologyEvangelist.com, although I’m currently working from home at after midnight (12:24am) my time.
