It’s my favourite blogger, Mervie’s birthday tomorrow! Go wish him Happy Burfday, OK?
I am not obsessed with shoes. In fact, I’ve never had any more than three pairs of perfectly-functional shoes at any one time. And as simplistic as it sounds, I need only three pairs — a pair of BATA slippers, a pair of open-toed sandals and a pair of leather shoes — and I’m good to go. Anywhere
But when I went shopping recently — was it during Chinese New Year? I can’t remember — I spotted this pair of Carlo Rino heels and I was literally *staring* at it. I mean, it was expensive alright, and though it was on sale I couldn’t bring myself to buying such as expensive pair of heels (when I was younger, I cried when my aunt insisted on buying me a pair of sport shoes!).
So anyway, Mum noticed that I was eyeing this pair of heels and came over to tell me that it was OK to buy it. I mean, she agreed that it was beautiful, and that I could buy it if I wanted to since I very seldom buy anything expensive for myself
So I did!
Check out the elaborate heels (by my standards)! I think it’s about, what, 3 inches high? And I don’t normally buy heels higher than an inch because I think I’m tall enough, and I don’t need to be reminded that I’m tall. And trust me, being tall does NOTHING except making me look thinner than I already am, and I hate comments that “You are too thin” thrown at me. Ouh well, this will be for another day ![]()

Wow, haven’t stopped by here for ages! Nice shoes! Not really my personal style but I just bought a pair of shoes for myself (and blogged about it too :P), something I wouldn’t usually do either, so snap for that!
Awesome shoes! I love the colours and patterns, really stunning without being ‘in your face’. You have great taste my friend.
The most expensive shoes I’ve ever bought are a bronze-y gold with a golden snake running down each of them. My mom also took a look then said it was okay to get them, except she then bought herself the same ones in black. :p
Those shoes are fabulous! I love them.
Kat: I think you like something simple and elegant, don’t you??
Becca: Though we’ve already grown up, it’s surprising that we still yearn for Mum’s “approval” for getting something expensive!
Daisy: Thank you
Gosh … I have 3 pairs of shoes as well … casual, sports and work.
Oh - what gorgeous shoes!! I don’t “dress up” very often but would love something like these for a special occasion.
Happy Weekend!
I like this pair of shoes! Very nice for the hunt!
Whoa! Those shoes are gorgeous. I would definitely wear them.
What an intricate design. Great photo for the hunt.
Woot! Those ARE beautiful shoes.
moz: Give me five!
pat: Yeah, I don’t dress up often, but it’s good to know that there’s something nice whenever I needed it
Great shoes - and you did deserve them…
Very intricate detail..Oh yes, I remembered BATA..My mom’s favourite shop to get my shoes when i’m young….These days depends on the design, I’ll grab some too…:))
Have a good weekend!

Those are nice shoes! My human mom doesn’t own any heels because she has super-wide feet and shoe manufacturers just don’t make heels in 2E width!
Desert Diva: Thanks
Pearl: BATA shoes aren’t that bad in quality you know.. For the price we pay, they’re actually quite worth it
Dragonheart: Aww.. I understand how your human mom must feel..
