If you remember what happened to my blog a few days after I launched it, you will know that I’m quite hopeless when it comes to making backups of my files and other important documents. And over the months, I am still as hopeless as I can only backup my blog posts by using the on-demand backup plugin - but that’s another story for another day.

What I want to share with you today is an award-winning (The Editor’s Choices for PCWorld and PCMagazine) online storage and backup site — IBackup - Online storage. Now, what differentiates IBackup with other cheaper alternatives is the breadth of its features and performance. And since online storage is inherently slow because it is over the internet, performance is the single most important factor in determining an online storage provider.

Now, if you’re seriously considering looking for an online storage and backup provider, there’s another good news — you can subscribe to IBackup for a FREE trial. And if you find IBackup reliable, you may check out their current subscription-based plans. You can also opt for yearly subscriptions online, which carry a 10% to 16% discount to the monthly plans.

If that sounds good enough, try it out yourself! :)

I subscribed to an IBackup account, not because it is another award-winning online backup service. I was impressed with their software even while I was trying their free trial. I was a bit wary initially about disclosing my credit card details, but the transition to a regular IBackup subscriber account was smooth. I am not any more worried about my account details, because it’s always available at my fingertips.

The backups of data I’ve scheduled with IBackup are working fine. Whenever I want to backup important files, I back then up immediately. The real advantage of IBackup over competitors is that both the backup and restore processes are pretty fast. Restores with Carbonite is a tad difficult. Carbonite is also just a backup service and does only automatic backups. IBackup also does not have any limitation on bandwith utilization and downloads.

Those having an IBackup account can also use IDrive, an application that maps the online storage account to your computer. This means the virtual drive can be used to open, edit and save files on the online account, as if they were on your computer. How’s that for a change? Check out IBackup at http://www.ibackup.com.
