Today is the 14th day of the Lunar New Year, which means that there’s ONLY one more day left to collect whatever angpows you’re intending to collect *winks*

Really, it means that after tomorrow, the Chinese will keep their CNY decorations - the red cloth hung over the main door of the house, the “mei hua” tree and all the dangling decors and normal lives resume. All edible food - Ngan Yin groundnuts, mandarin oranges, junk foods, packet drinks, Shandys, pineapple tarts, peanut cookies - will either be finished or kept in the kitchen cabinet. Married adults will empty all the extra angpows and kids are expected to save all their angpow money in the piggy bank.

So typical and predictable, huh?

So yea, yesterday J, his housemate and I played mahjong. It’s been quite a long time since I laid my hands on those tiles and the “Gambling Queen” (yea, that’s ME, hahahha) even forgot some of the basic rules. But it wasn’t quite a problem because we were quite flexible and we kind of created some new rules as we played along because, heck, we were only playing for the sake of it. Not that we’re going to win millions and build a bungalow!

But I still won! Thanks to the God of Prosperity, muahahah… I was the sole winner of the night, and won a pathetic amount of 14 bucks over a few hours - really, now when I think back, it was quite a waste of my time youth.. But it was fun :) So yea, we’re probably playing mahjong again tonight :)

Heh, mahjong is awesome cause it eats up a lot of time and brain power. Good for when you have nothing to do. :P

pelf: And people who play mahjong don’t get Alzheimer’s? Is that true? :)

I love mahjong; I even have my own set of tiles that I bought in Hong Kong. Someday I want to buy one of those motorized tables that sort the tiles for you. So much fun.

pelf: Do the motorized tiles-sorting tables REALLY exist? What does it do?! :)

Yay 14 bucks! hehehe. How I wish I know how to play mahjong.. :(
    I should learn how.

pelf: Yes, you should learn how because it’s quite a fun game. And there’s really no harm in learning it. I don’t claim to know ALL ABOUT it but yea, try to learn enough to play a few games :) I can teach you a few basic skills, if you want :)
