You know, I am extremely allergic to nosy neighbours, and especially those who do not know when they should keep their mouths tightly shut and instead babble to their hearts’ contents.
You see, the grass and weeds in my front garden have been growing wildly and I had been meaning to get a grasscutter to help clear the bushes since months ago. The grass and weeds have grown into quite thick bushes and my housemates and I dare not step onto the garden to hang our clothes for fear of fire-ants and snakes and whatever that might be luring in the bushy garden.
So today when I heard somebody cutting grass behind my house, I got him to help clear my garden and of course I made it clear that I would pay for his services.
So he came and after clearing the bushes, my nosy neighbour came over and asked, “Oh, you got that man to cut your grass?” and “How much did you pay him?” So one of my housemates told her that we paid him RM 10. Then she said, “Whoa! RM 10 arr?! Sooo expensive!” I was already quite p*ssed off with her unwelcomed comments but she didn’t quite get the hint, and she continued, “Why did you pay him RM 10? You could have given him less..”
But I thought, what’s the problem with paying that man RM 10 for his services? I’m sure he could use that RM 10 to buy his son some keropok lekor or something (when I asked him to help clear my garden, he hesitated and said he’d be leaving right after work to pick his son from school)?! And what’s the problem with paying somebody for his services when we couldn’t clear the bushes ourselves?! And since there are four of us, what’s the problem with paying RM 2.50 per person, in exchange for more space to hang our clothes, less mosquitoes and having to worry less about fire-ants and snakes in the garden?!
The more I think about it, the more p*ssed I am because our front garden is practically filled with my neighbours’ potted plants and two, not one but two, papaya trees. And whenever she does HER gardening in our garden, she leaves dried leaves, broken branches and twigs and what-nots IN THE GARDEN. So we actually paid RM 10 to clear her bl**dy mess and she had the nerves to tell me how I should spend MY RM 10!!
AAARRGGHHH!!

Well, I used to have a neighbor with nice ass. Well, house mate. =)
pelf: You WHAT?! Muahaha..
If she’s pretty I dun mind, otherwise I’ll tear out all her plants (waiting 4 yr instructions…)
pelf: Shhh.. She’ll know it’s me if her plants were all torn out! BTW, she’s married with 2 children. And not pretty. Muahhhaha..
If you don’t let words hurt you, she won’t be able to affect your emotions. Let her be … you’re none the poorer or worse off, whatever she comments. You have willingly parted with your $$$, which you believe is fair value for the service. Unless she contributed, she has no say.
We are the masters of our own feelings, so, why get mad because of what she said. She obviously wanted to get to you, don’t let her.
pelf: Thanks for the kind words..
I would have probably told her I paid RM10 because the grass cutter complained that she is stingy
pelf: Now when I think back, I should have told her that I had to pay that amount because of her broken and dead plants in MY GARDEN, muahahah
I actually agree with moz.
He’s got it right.
pelf: I know.. I know
There’s this thing called the ‘one finger salute’. Learn it Pelf
pelf: Aiyoh, Merv.. It’s irreversible you know.. ?
It’s called kiasu-ness…..
And yeah, I can’t stand those kinds of people either.
pelf: It gets to the nerves, no?
Next time I will REMEMBER to bring HERBICIDE when I go KT. I will make sure all her plants say sayonara to her. Muahaha!! Call me cruel little Pelfy!!
pelf: Aiyoyo.. Must you REALLY do things that she will instantly know done by me?! Moreover, I don’t dislike her more with each passing day, so why cut short my life because of her? Hhahaha..
