Cai shen dao! Cai shen dao!
It’s the time of the year again.. Mum will be busy making cookies, just like how she used to do it last year, and the years before. And Mei Mei will be sending out Chinese New Year cards to our relatives in Ipoh and Kuantan eventhough we’re going to see them in less than a month. You don’t break traditions, do you?
Our cousins will be back - you know, the two of you who have been married, literally, to Australia while studying and another one practically married to Australia and it’s good time to catch up on each others’ lives. As well as that of the grandparents, aunts and uncles.
And then there’s the frantic shopping - for clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery, watches and what-nots. I haven’t been thinking about the clothes that I’m going to buy this year because I have kind of given up hope on buying clothes that fit AND look nice on me. I know I need to gain weight, no need to remind me again. But shoes, yea, definitely..
