So I will be collecting more terrapin blood in the days to come - God bless them - to determine the basic hematologic values for this particular species (and probably also the painted terrapins).
And, the other day when we were in a meeting with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) officers, we learned that they intended to release about 300 3-year-old river terrapins in the not-so-distant future. And the greedy part of me would also like to draw some blood from those to-be-released terrapins - to determine whether there are differences of blood values between terrapins from the Terengganu River and the Setiu River (though I doubt so - we’re talking about blood here, not heart rate or blood pressure). But then again, I thought it would be a good idea to get the basic blood values for future references.
But whatever it is, it will depend very much on whether I can afford the time to count the number of red and white blood cells in the lab..

I am learning about white blood cells and red blood cells myself. I never thought our immune system was so important!.
