The lightning that occured in the afternoon struck our router AND my housemates’ network cards because both their computers were switched on. Thank God I wasn’t at home. It would cost me a couple of thousand bucks to get a new laptop because I am sure whatever network cards compatible with my ancient Acer should be obsolete by now. I can’t be thankful enough..

Gosh! I really feel sorry for your housemates..
pelf: Yea, I feel sorry for them too, especially the one whose network card was integrated in the laptop.. The other guy has already bought a new network card, which costs him about 20 bucks..
