A lot of people have been complaining about the decline in the quality of PPS pings lately and, as much as I would like to deny it, the fact is that I am a part of the community, as Edrei so nicely puts it.

Being a part of the community means that complaining about the (bad) quality of recent PPS pings is akin to complaining about the (equally bad) quality of my OWN blog. It is akin to washing our dirty linens in public. Whatever.

I do not know how good PPS pings used to be before I knew what PPS was. Which means, I really am NOT in a position to say whether the quality of our blog posts are on the decline or otherwise, though I would assume that the majority is right about it ;)

So I guess the only thing that I can do on MY part is to cut down on the unnecessary pings, especially on those entries that nobody, except myself, would like to read. If you like to read pelf-ism is contagious, I know you would be back, regardless of whether I am pinging PPS or not, right? Right? Otherwise, my suggestion is to get Bloglines and subscribe to my feed *winks* <– This is NOT marketing, OK?! Muahhahah :)

  1. Oh Oh, I idi*t liao, don’t know much abt pinging, RSS, blog lines and stuff, though I’ve visited PPS before. So, Pelf, can be my Si Fu, ah?

I am interested getting this shared blog project, puisi-poesy pinged, but will have to discuss with the other members first.

pelf: Can! Can! I can teach you how! *whoa* Sounds like very terror.. *winks*

sighz…guess i’m also considered no-quality ping by your standards then, lol.

but if you’re unsure about how to use SARA, pls read this link:

    http://boringest.blogasian.com/sara/

pelf: I have read it. In fact, I have seen my own post in SARA but I did not register or do anything – so I was wondering what exactly SARA is ;) Could you educate me a bit and tell me how different it is from PPS? (I know, I am ignorant..)

  3. Lainie says:

ping politics? but if people only ping issues of “public interest”, it’d get awfully boring :)

pelf: Aiyah.. I guess either way there will be people who complain la.. So the best way is to avoid getting entangled in these webs of complaints. Hehhee.. ;)

  4. Hafiz says:

I still want my dose of terrapins though, quality or no quality. =p

pelf: OI! What you mean quality or no quality?! All my posts on the terrapins are of very high quality.. Muahaha :)

  5. lilian says:

Hehehe, not your kind of posts la. It is those people who ping ping ping about this video, that video taken from somewhere and somemore belagak how much he earns from there. And it is not like one ping but three times ping. Like we all kena leeched likedat lah. There are also some who post the same ping at different times over and over again.

Those personal entries coming from the heart, that is what I am interested to read. So keep the terrapin coming ‘cos I still have yet to learn which is penyu, kura-kura and whatever.

pelf: OK! OK! You are my motivator! ;)

  6. boringest says:

well, for SARA, you don’t ping but submit your feeds (RSS/ATOM) to me, so everytime you update, it’ll appear on SARA automagically.

So no accidental multiple ping, no repinging, and all posts are kept for 1 week. Occasionally, I’ll add those blogs which are nice to read to SARA so we get a bigger picture of the Southeast Asian blog community so probably that’s how your blog ended up there.

pelf: OK! Now I understand *winks*

  7. ivan says:

yeah give us more terrapins posts!!! we love turtles

pelf: OK, our wish is my command, badman :)

  8. Jason says:

Okloh, I won’t ping my post anymore loh.

pelf: Err.. I didn’t say anything about your blog wor.. *winks*
