I shall leave for Feli to blog about what happened upon her arrival and all.. But I just could not resist the temptation to talk about this.

We were at a hypermarket, the only hypermarket in KT, and were getting Feli some last minute necessities. We were at the towels section and Feli’s Mum just took a green towel without asking whether she’d prefer the pink or the blue one. I was like, “Do you want the green towel?” and she was like, “Yeah, no problem.”

Then we got to the mirrors section. I saw a very pretty mirror with the frame of an apple, and it came in two colours, pale blue and pale green. Instinctively I asked, “What colour do you want?” to which she said “I want the blue one” almost immediately.

I couldn’t help myself but said, “WOW.. You sound soo much less complicated compared to my sister.”

Being the baby in the family, though there are only two of us, my sister almost always gets to choose what she wants. From the colour and motif of the towel, to the colour of the pails and toothbrush and what-nots. And everything has to match. Otherwise she wouldn’t use it.

Before that we were choosing a little basket for Feli to take her toiletries to the bathroom, and I said maybe she would need a medium-sized one because there’ll be at least a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of conditioner, a bottle of shower gel, a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush, and you know what she said to me?! “WOW. Your list is longer than mine. I don’t need a conditioner.”

I was like, “Ouh, OK.”

If she was my sister, she would need more than what I had listed. My sister probably has a bottle facial foam, a bottle of toner, a bottle of mosturizer, a loofah, a bottle of face mask, a shower cap and some cotton buds.

I think my sister will kill me for this.. Unless I talk about how happy and enthusiastic she is for the upcoming “Spirit of Melaka” thingy.. *winks*

So nice of you to show Feli around…With you as her ‘lecturer/guide’, she will quickly learn the basics of Surviving Terengganu 101. Not that it’s that bad, but most city folks cannot ‘tahan’ initially; not to mention, ‘orang tenganu’ like my very own younger brother who will never return to settle down.

BTW, I enjoyed reading and looking at the photos of your undergraduate days. So far, I’ve only met one Kustem student before, and have always been curious how life and studies is like there. Perhaps, you might even consider writing a fictional novel about life in small town university one day. Haha.

Happy showing around your new ’sis’. :)

pelf: I can’t write novels :( And I guess it is the same in every university, you know, students who walk from block to block, holding an umbrella, and junior lecturers who drive bigger cars than other senior lecturers and stuff like that.. But KUSTEM is really expanding.. I can’t believe I managed to survive this place 5 years ago.. Campus life is so much easier these days *winks*
