Yvonne and LiewCF have been spreading the words around that there is a newborn baby with complex congenital heart disease and needs RM 100,000 for corrective surgery.
It is very nice of them to highlight the plight of the baby in the blogosphere and I really hope the baby gets enough funds to undergo the needed surgery to keep him alive *crosses fingers*
But before we settle the baby’s case, there’s another piece of sad news in Star Metro Central today, and I am reproducing it below:
Teen in need of your help
HE is young and would have many years before him if not for acute myeloid leukaemia.
Wong Kim Yau, 17, from Gopeng, was diagnosed with the condition in 2005 and had several courses of chemotherapy, which led to remission.
The leukaemia, however, relapsed, and doctors in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) has tried to salvage chemotherapy and are hoping to control his disease.
“Wong is still young, so we are exploring stem cell transplant and are searching for donors,” said Dr Gan. “The search, subsequent tests and transportation of the stem cell from overseas can cost RM240,000.”
The centre has found a donor, but she is not willing to donate her stem cells.
Wong’s father, 46-year-old Wong Kei Loy, is an odd-job worker while his mother, Liew Yoke Chan, 43, is a housewife.
The public can send cheques, payable to “MCA Public Services and Complaints Department” with Wong Kim Yau’s name written at the back.
These can be sent to the department at 7th floor, Wisma MCA, 163 Jalan Ampang, 50450, Kuala Lumpur.

I know I am not as well read as you-know-who, but even if this little humble post of mine reaches just one person, I would be glad enough. And if YOU happen to be the ONE person, I would be happier if you could help spread the news around :) That’s the least we could do..

Kenny Sia could put this on his blog. He many the femes unlike us small fries hehe. Will make a mention of it on mine.
pelf: Hhaha, good.. *pats Merv’s back* Good boy :))
